TEKNOBOND 100
2 Components, Solvent Based Epoxy Coating Primer Having Low Viscosity
Product Description
TEKNOBOND 100 is solvent based, low viscosity, epoxy coating primer with two components.
Uses
· As a primer in epoxy coatings to prevent dust coming from surface in purification and wastewater foundations, wine tanks, food industries, hospitals, medicine industries, laboratories, textile and automotive industries.
· Can be used as a pore and capillary sealing primer on mineral substrates.
· Suitable for self leveling mortars or scratch primers with filler.
· In epoxy waterproofing systems.
· Substrates where chemical resistance or impermeability to water, oil and petrol is required.
Features and Benefits
· Perfect adherence to concrete, wooden, steel, carbon fiber, glass and aramide sheets.
· Good chemical resistance and very low viscosity.
· Long process time.
· High capillary penetration.
· Resistant to freeze-thaw cycle and electric current.
· Impermeable to water and other liquids.
· Exhibits excellent adhesion and resistance to high temperatures.
· Easy to clean and not dangerous to human health.
Preparation of Substrate
The mineral based surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or any loose material. Old concrete surfaces contaminated with oil or grease requires suitable preparation such as steam cleaning in conjunction with a suitable detergent. Obtain a conditional moisture ratio less than %4. In case of low strength concrete (σtc< 1.5 N/mm2), the loosen parts of concrete must be broken and the surfaces should be repaired with TEKNOREP.
Mixing
TEKNOBOND 100 produced according to right mixing ratio. The temperature of the materials must not exceed 15oC – 25oC. Mix the A and B components thoroughly with a mechanical mixer with a 400 - 600 RPM mixer in a clean container until a consistency and a streak free structure is achieved (at least 3 minutes). Small quantities can be mixed by hand using a flat bladed knife. Larger amounts should be mixed using a slow speed mixer. Mix materials in appropriate amount according to proportions of mixture by considering the material you will be able to use.
Application Method
Immediately after mixing TEKNOBOND 100, it should be applied by brush, spraying or roller to the prepared clean surface. Apply to a uniform, thin coat and brush into the surface. To get a better adhesion TEKNOBOND 100 is sprinkled with small size dried sand. Fillers are added to the mixed TEKNOBOND 100 under constant stirring. Also the primer coat should be applied at constant or falling temperatures in order to minimize the risk of blister formation. To fully cure the material the substrate and working temperature must not fall below the minimum.
Watchpoints
· Never thin TEKNOBOND 100 by any solvent.
· Avoid application under temperatures below +5°C and over +30°C.
· Avoid application on frozen areas, on areas under risk of freezing in 24 hours.
· TEKNOBOND 100 should be applied in 45 minutes (at 20oC). The workability and hardening times of epoxy based products depend on temperature.
· After the application there should be no contact for 24 hours. Also water contact has to be avoided.
· Because of including solvent, it is very easy to take fire.
· Don’t use moist fillers.
Storage
The shelf life of TEKNOBOND 100 is 12 months. Store in
cool, dry and frost free conditions.
Packaging
TEKNOBOND 100 is supplied in 20 kg ready packs.
