TEKNOSER BASKI

Quartz Aggregate, Stamped Concrete

Product Description

TEKNOSER BASKI is cement based, abrasion resistant, powder stamped concrete that is including special type cement, high quality quartz aggregate. TEKNOSER BASKI provides a decorative appearance and resistance to wearing, impact, dusting or abrasion.

Uses

·         In areas subject to high abrasion and impact.

·         In pool decks, driveways, entries, courtyards, and patios

·         In indoors and outdoors.

Features and Benefits

·         Designed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile and even wood.

·         Cost effective, long lasting floor

·         Can be blended with decorative concrete elements such as exposed aggregate finishes and acid-etch staining, along with a particular pattern, such as running bond brick, hexagonal tile, worn rock or stone.

·         Dust proof and slip resistant surfaces.

·         Provides the perfect canvas for creating an economical replica of more expensive materials, and yet still maintaining a very natural, authentic look.

·         Easily applied on freshly floated surface concrete.

·         Higher impermeability compared to plain concrete

·         Resistant to water and freeze-thaw cycle.

·         Well graded quartz aggregates.

Application Method

Choose a color and texture of concrete that complements the natural surroundings and adjacent structures. Concrete is floated after being poured and overall setting is obtained with the help of vibrating float application. Dependent on the conditions, remove the surface water or allow it to evaporate. The dry shake must be spread once the concrete can be stepped on, without leaving a print deeper than 3 - 5 mm. Sprinkle TEKNOSER BASKI onto the fresh concrete evenly in 2 stages. Spread the material evenly over the surface and wet the material well with concrete. The spread quantity is leveled completely to concrete by vibrating screed. Soon after glazing the TEKNOSER BASKI spread fresh concrete with the help of a steel float (helicopter), powder releasing agent must be spread to surface and than press the mat into the concrete. Timing is critical so work should proceed without delay once texturing begins. Likewise, inspect the area periodically so that necessary touch up work can begin as soon as possible. A release agent with a darker tone than the coloring agent will provide depth and shadowing in the finished concrete. Most of the release agent will be removed when the finished project is pressure washed. The primary concrete color will dominate and approximately 20% of the release agent will adhere to the surface of the concrete. Open areas should be protected from aggressive whether conditions during the first 24 – 48 hours. Seal the concrete with TEKNOKUR 300 according to manufacturer directions.

Watchpoints

·         Care must be taken to apply the product without creating ripples etc. in the concrete surface.

·         Special consideration should be given to the orientation of grout lines, particularly in repetitive patterns such as running bond, brick, or cobblestone.

·         The crew should know ahead of time where the first mat will be placed, as well as aware of areas where a standard mat won't fit, and in what direction stamping will proceed.

·         Variations in concrete characteristics such as water content and cement quality may lead to slight color variations.

·         Never add water to the surface where the dry shake has been applied.

·         Correct timing and toweling techniques are essential.

·         Avoid application on frozen areas, on areas under risk of freezing in 24 hours or on areas open to direct sunlight or wind.

·         At too low and too high relative humidity, efflorescence and bleeding can appear on the surface.

·         The slab must be of good quality concrete with a minimum water/cement ratio consistent with the production of a fully compacted slab.
